Senior IT Data Platform Operations Professional (Microsoft Fabric)
We are looking for an experienced IT operations professional to operate and govern an enterprise Microsoft Fabric / Power BI Service platform.
This role focuses on defining and owning how the platform operates: stability, governance, security, automation, and operational standards. The goal is to ensure the platform is reliable, compliant, and predictable for internal data and analytics teams.
This is not a BI development or user support role. Day‑to‑day incidents and user requests are handled by a dedicated support team. This role operates above the support layer, focusing on standards, escalations, and systemic platform topics.
- Own and operate the Microsoft Fabric / Power BI Service as an enterprise platform
- Define and maintain platform operating standards (governance, security, operational processes)
- Ensure availability, performance, and reliability through monitoring, capacity management, and trend analysis
- Act as an escalation point for complex or recurring platform issues
- Lead incident, problem, and change management at platform level, with focus on root cause and prevention
- Enforce platform governance, including access management, tenant and capacity settings, and usage controls
- Maintain security, compliance, and audit readiness (logging, retention, risk controls)
- Design and maintain operational automation (access reviews, reporting, lifecycle tasks) using APIs, scripting, and cloud services
- Own operational documentation (runbooks, alerting, operational KPIs)
- Provide guidance to development and support teams on correct platform usage
- Collaborate with architects and security teams to improve resilience and safely adopt new platform features
- Level‑2 support teams handle standard incidents and user issues
- This role focuses on platform‑level ownership, rules, and escalations
- Success is measured by platform stability, clarity of standards, and reduced operational noise, not ticket volume
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years in IT operations, platform management, or SaaS service operations
- Experience operating a large‑scale cloud or SaaS platform in an enterprise environment
- Strong understanding of platform governance, security, and compliance
- Practical experience with monitoring, incident/problem/change management, and ITSM
- Strong automation mindset with hands‑on skills in PowerShell, Python, APIs, and/or Azure services
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure, or comparable platforms; deep BI or report development skills are not required
- Business‑level English communication skills
Key competencies
- Strong sense of service ownership and accountability
- Structured, risk‑aware, compliance‑oriented approach
- Focus on systemic improvement, not ad‑hoc fixes
- Proactive problem solver with emphasis on automation
- Comfortable working in cross‑functional teams
