At Siemens Healthineers (SHS), our inspiring and caring environment forms a global community that celebrates diversity and individuality. We encourage you to step beyond your comfort zone, offering resources and flexibility to foster your professional and personal growth, all while valuing your unique contributions.

As part of the International Government Affairs team, the Global Trade & Supply Chain Director will support the Global company leadership in shaping strategic direction on trade, tariffs, customs, and supply chain resilience matters across Asia to the rest of the world. This role will provide expert guidance on evolving trade policy developments, with a strong focus on Asia Pacific markets and their impact on manufacturing operations, sourcing strategies, and regional supply chain networks—particularly factories in China and India.

The role will serve as a critical bridge between global functions, regional leadership, and manufacturing sites to ensure proactive management of tariff exposure, customs risks, and trade-related business continuity challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Global senior management in defining and advancing strategic priorities related to trade policy, tariffs, customs, and supply chain resilience across Asia to the rest of the world.
  • Advise Global business unit leaders, operations teams, and global functions on trade and supply chain matters, particularly regarding future policy developments and their impact on manufacturing footprint, sourcing models, R&D investments, and regional distribution networks.
  • Lead assessment and mitigation of trade topics affecting factories in China and India, including tariff changes, customs procedures, export controls, localization measures, and cross-border supply chain risks.
  • Strengthen the company’s external trade policy advocacy efforts in Asia Pacific through engagement with industry associations, chambers of commerce, and relevant stakeholders on cross regional topics
  • Contribute to cross-functional working groups focused on resilient communication of trade policy developments, ensuring preparedness for tariff changes, supply disruptions, and regulatory shifts across Asia that impact global operations
  • Own internal communications on trade policy topics cross regionally, supporting implementation of mitigation measures and ensuring strong awareness among commercial, manufacturing, logistics, and procurement teams.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in international trade, tariffs, customs, government affairs, supply chain strategy, or related disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of Asia Pacific trade policy frameworks, especially China and India, with understanding of tariff structures, customs procedures, and geopolitical impacts on supply chains.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial supply chains, ideally within MedTech, healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries.
  • Proven ability to work across regional and global matrix organizations and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English and Mandarin required; additional Asian languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel within Asia Pacific as needed.
