The “Graph & Ontology Platform" is a central IT service within Siemens Healthineers that provides a platform for data and non-data scientists in our Business Units to analyze and learn from their data utilizing the power of graphs and semantic engineering.
Our goal is to enable diverse use cases across all of Siemens Healthineers regardless of whether they utilize graphs for visualization, analytics, backends or as input for AI Systems.
As part of the Center of Excellence for Data and AI, you will focus on operating the on-premise Ontology Platform and support in Operating the SaaS Knowledge Graph platform.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Manage platform lifecycle: upgrades, releases, integrations, and incident handling
- Coordinate with engineering teams to implement features, fixes, and optimizations for use cases
- Monitor system health, backups, logging, automate maintenance tasks, and optimize workflows
- Oversee daily operations, stability, performance, and uptime of the ontology (& Knowledge Graph) platform
- Analyze and report on platform capacity to minimize costs and ensure adequate resources for incoming use cases
- Maintain and improve the platform's security framework, including implementing key-based authentication and role-based access control mechanisms
- Ensure data quality, model consistency, and proper governance across ontologies
- Develop and maintain documentation related to the platform, including architectural diagrams, operational procedures, platform usage standards, technical specifications, and user guides
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to graph databases & cloud computing and make recommendations for the adoption of new technologies and practices
Your qualifications and experience:
- You hold a bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related subjects
- You have many years of relevant professional experience as a (graph) database developer or similar
- You do not have a degree? Applications with vocational training in combination with additional qualifications and many years of professional experience in this field are also welcome
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on status, progress and risks
- Experience managing or operating enterprise data platforms or semantic/knowledge graph platforms.
- Experience with platform operation, specifically: reliability, monitoring, automation, logging, replication and performance tuning
- Experience with Azure based cloud environments, DevOps, and optimally with Altair (Cambridge Semantics), and Neo4j
- Hands-on experience with ontology development and lifecycle management.
- Proficiency with graph databases, both RDF & Property Graph, experience with Ontologies is appreciated
- Experience in Implementing and Maintaining a consistent RBAC Concept
- Prior work establishing platform best practices, SLAs, terms of use, and operational frameworks
- Knowledge of enterprise industry best practices and standards regarding graph databases is a plus

- You can manage multiple demands and projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- You have strong communication and collaboration skills and can communicate effectively with stakeholders, translate technical jargon into plain language, and build consensus around complex technical solutions
