We are hiring a Tax Professional to support South Korean Tax Head in overseeing the end-to-end tax landscape for South Korea.  

The role involves managing tax compliance, reporting, advisory, and related activities, ensuring adherence to local regulations and organizational objectives. 

This position requires a proactive individual with strong technical expertise and a deep understanding of tax frameworks in Korea. The position is to be based in Seoul.



Your role:

·         Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing, and submission of tax returns (e.g., corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax) in compliance with local tax laws in Korea.

·         Tax Reporting: Prepare and review tax-related financial reports, including tax provisions, reconciliations, and disclosures, ensuring alignment with local and international standards (e.g., IFRS, K-IFRS).

·         Tax Advisory: Provide informed tax advice to internal stakeholders, supporting business decisions by analyzing tax implications of transactions, investments, and operational structures.

·         Liaison and Coordination: Collaborate with Tax Head, external auditors, tax authorities, and consultants to address tax queries, audits, and disputes in assigned jurisdictions.

·         Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on tax laws, regulations, and policy changes in Korea, advising on potential impacts and ensuring compliance.

·         Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes, enhance efficiency, and mitigate risks in tax operations and support implementation thereof.

·         Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized tax records, ensuring compliance with statutory retention requirements.



Your expertise:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Law, or a related field; tax-specific certifications (e.g., Korean Certified Tax Accountant) are a plus.
  • Experiences: You bring around 4 to 5 years of post-qualification tax experience
  • Technical Skills: 
    • You possess strong knowledge of tax regulations in South Korea.
    • Proficiency in tax compliance processes, including corporate tax, VAT/GST, and withholding tax.
    •  Familiarity with international tax principles, transfer pricing, and cross-border transactions.
    • Experience with tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus.

·         Soft Skills:

·         Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

·         Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

·         Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

·         Experience in a corporate tax department or professional services firm is preferred.

·         Proficiency in English; Korean language skills are advantageous for local compliance work
