Then come and join our global team as Global Pension Expert (f/m/d), for providing strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of global pension management. This role supports country-level pension projects, ensuring effective governance, risk and internal controls (R/IC), and alignment with our global Treasury function for the joint management of pension plans.

Key responsibilities include managing global pension providers, overseeing budget and accounting processes, and coordinating global pension reporting as well as maintaining a comprehensive global pension database. The role also delivers internal education on pension-related topics and drives consistency and excellence across pension programs worldwide.

Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.

Even more flexibility? Mobile working from abroad is possible for up to 30 days a year under certain conditions and in selected countries.

This position is possible full-time (35h/week) or part-time (min. 30h/week)

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for steering our actuarial service providers for our pension and service anniversary benefit valuations including overseeing assumption setting and census data provision
  • You will be ensure the global pension and service anniversary reporting
  • You will act as the point of contact for our accounting and treasury department, supporting it globally in relevant questions regarding accounting treatment or risk management
  • You will take on key tasks in the global governance of our pension landscape, including managing pension-related budgets, documentation of plan changes and monitoring compliance with our global guidelines
  • You will advise and support our local and regional HR and Total Rewards teams in complex matters relating to company pension provision and provide educational support as required.
  • You will actively manage and drive pension and service anniversary projects for smaller plans, including hands-on analysis of plan design, benefits, costs, administrative set-ups, and accounting implications under IAS 19.
  • You will develop and implement concrete optimization measures (e.g. plan simplification, plan closures, benefit adjustments, governance improvements), coordinating their execution with local HR teams, Finance, Legal, actuaries, and external service providers, while ensuring alignment with global accounting and governance standards.
  • You will support M&A projects, in particular during carve-outs and acquisitions.
  • You will support digitalization projects in the area of pensions and benefits, particularly regarding more efficient administration and communication with employees.

    Your qualifications and experience:

    • You have successfully completed your master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as mathematics or economics.
    • You have several years of relevant professional experience with focus on Pension Management at companies and/or consultancies combined with in-depth knowledge of pension plan management, process analysis and reporting.
    • We also welcome candidates with a bachelor’s degree combined with additional professional experience in this field.
    • You have experience in dealing with pension landscapes and regulations across countries and regions.
    • Ideally you are a certified actuary (or possess similar knowledge including IAS19); other additional qualifications (such as IEBA) would be an advantage.
    • You have good project management skills with a successful track record of managing projects in a complex matrix organization and are used to collaborating effectively with relevant partners across departmental boundaries and multiple stakeholders on senior management level.
    • Investment and asset management skills, especially for DC plans, are a plus.
    • Do you not have a university degree? We also welcome candidates with a vocational qualification combined with additional certifications and extensive professional experience in this field.

    • Language Skills: You are business fluent in English (spoken and written). Ideally you have German language skills, additional local languages (e.g. Spanish, French) are desirable.

    • Analytical & Detail‑Orientation: Comfortable navigating complex pension structures, regulations, and financial/actuarial information.
    • Proactive Problem‑Solver: Identify issues early, drive clarity, and take initiative to align stakeholders and move topics forward.
    • Exceptional Stakeholder Management and Communication: Build trustful relationships across HR, Finance, Treasury, regional teams, external advisors as well as unions, employee councils, employees and in some cases legislators, adapting communication to diverse audiences.
    • Resilient & Composed Under Pressure: Navigate ambiguity, shifting priorities, and time‑critical governance topics with calmness and reliability.
    • Cross‑Cultural Communication Competence: Effectively collaborate in a global environment, aware of cultural nuance and able to translate complex topics into clear messages.
    • Ownership & Accountability: Demonstrate strong personal responsibility for outcomes, follow through reliably, and ensure governance standards are upheld.
