You will drive Regulations harmonization, establish robust governance mechanisms, and provide strategic oversight of the global Travel & Expense governance landscape. You will enable consistent interpretation, effective compliance, and sustainable governance practices while balancing business needs, regulatory requirements, and employee experience.

Experience with corporate regulations, at global and local level, or governance frameworks is essential for this strategic role.

Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.

Even more flexibility? Mobile working from abroad is possible for up to 30 days a year under certain conditions and in selected countries.

This position can also be located at the following locations:

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You own and continuously evolve the global Travel & Expense regulation framework, including Directives, Instructions, principles, guardrails, mandatory requirements, and decision-making standards.
  • You define and maintain governance mechanisms that ensure consistent interpretation, application, and oversight of Travel & Expense regulations across all countries and business entities.
  • You oversee local Instructions and country-specific governance documentation, ensuring alignment with global regulations, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives.
  • You monitor deviations, exception trends, compliance risks, and governance infractions, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • You ensure fair, transparent, and consistent application of governance requirements across regions while balancing legal obligations, business needs, and employee experience.
  • You lead the harmonization of the Travel & Expense Regulation frameworks, ensuring a consistent and scalable governance model.
  • You define governance standards, escalation pathways, approval structures, and accountability mechanisms related to Travel & Expense governance.
  • You partner with operational stakeholders to align processes, systems, and controls with the intended governance framework while keeping governance and execution responsibilities clearly separated.
  • You coordinate the evaluation, approval, implementation, and communication of regulation changes.
  • You act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on Travel & Expense governance matters, compliance risks, and strategic decisions.
  • You collaborate with Finance, Legal, Procurement, HR, Compliance, and other stakeholders to drive governance alignment, risk mitigation, and organizational compliance.

Your qualifications and experience:

  • You hold a university degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, Public Policy, Governance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • You have many years of experience in policy governance, regulations management, corporate compliance, HR policy management, Finance governance, or a comparable governance-focused role in a multinational organization.
  • You understand how local requirements, regulations, and business needs interact with global governance frameworks.
  • You have several years of hands-on experience developing, implementing, reviewing, and governing corporate Directives, Instructions, policies, standards, or comparable governance documentation within a multinational environment.
  • You have demonstrable experience identifying, assessing, and managing compliance risks, policy exceptions, governance deviations, and cross-functional governance challenges, including the definition of corrective actions.
  • You have successfully worked with senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, HR, Procurement, Compliance, and external service partners.
  • Prior exposure to Travel & Expense, Mobility, Procurement, HR, Finance, or similar regulated corporate environments is beneficial but not required.
  • You already have extensive professional experience and relevant additional qualifications in this field but no university degree? Then we would also be delighted to receive your application.

Your attributes and skills:

  • You possess excellent English and German communication skills, written and verbal.
  • You demonstrate strong analytical, conceptual, and governance-oriented thinking.
  • You translate complex governance requirements into practical and sustainable solutions.
  • You excel at stakeholder management and influencing across organizational levels, including senior leadership.
  • You communicate clearly and facilitate discussions on governance requirements, decision intent, and decision rationales.
  • You balance business requirements with governance standards, compliance expectations, and organizational objectives.
  • You demonstrate sound judgment when assessing exceptions, governance risks, and competing stakeholder interests.
  • You are comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and driving alignment across functions, countries, and cultures.
  • You have a strong compliance and ethics mindset, with high integrity, discretion, and reliability.
