The Head of Real Estate Construction EMEA drives the strategic planning, governance, and execution of all capital construction projects across the EMEA region. This individual ensures that all facilities are delivered on time, within budget, in line with EHS requirements, and to the highest standards of quality, safety, compliance, and sustainability. The role further entails strict adherence to the approved financial framework, proactive management of client-driven scope changes, and continuous steering of sub-consultants and contractors to safeguard design integrity, cost control, and schedule discipline.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: You oversee construction execution across EMEA in alignment with corporate objectives and long-term plans. You help define global standards, policies, and frameworks for construction excellence, cost management, safety, and sustainability.
  • Operational Delivery: You lead and coordinate regional project management and construction teams to deliver projects on scope, cost, schedule, and HSE targets, supported by strong project controls, risk management, and performance tracking.
  • Stakeholder & Partner Management: You manage key relationships—directly or through regional teams—with vendors, contractors, and design partners to ensure efficient collaboration and seamless approval processes.
  • Risk management & Cost Control: You drive cost discipline by leveraging global procurement strength, early design optimization, and tight financial management. You identify, evaluate, and resolve potential claims proactively. You assess risks related to cost, schedule, safety, compliance, and supply chain, embedding contingency planning and scenario analysis into major projects.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: You work closely with your Development team to align design intent and feasibility with construction delivery. In parallel, you collaborate early with the cross‑functional Operations team to integrate operational and regulatory requirements and ensure efficient, compliant, and high‑quality facility operations.
  • Governance: You establish and maintain a global governance framework for construction, approvals, compliance, reporting, and escalation, ensuring transparency in decisions, budgets, and contractor selection.
  • Sustainability & Innovation: You champion sustainability through renewable technologies, energy efficiency, solutions such as modular construction, all in light of assisting Siemens Healthineers to achieve our sustainable targets.
  • People & Organizational Leadership: You lead a high-performing construction organization, developing talent, promoting accountability and safety, and mentoring team members to ensure sustained excellence.

Your qualifications and experience:

  • You hold a completed (dual) degree in architecture, civil engineering, real estate management, construction or a comparable field.
  • You bring extensive long-term professional experience in real estate development, construction project management, or similar roles.
  • Additionally, you have several years of leadership experience with interdisciplinary teams, preferably gained in both domestic and international settings.
  • You have successfully delivered large-scale construction and development projects exceeding €100 million volume.
  • You have a proven track record in planning and cost management programs including the development of early warning systems, project risk dashboards and cost-efficiency actions
  • You have profound knowledge in project and process management, construction and planning law, as well as approval procedures, and have ideally acquired additional qualifications in this area.
  • You possess extensive interdisciplinary real estate knowledge and a strong personal network in construction and related service providers.
  • You are familiar with ESG criteria, sustainable construction, and innovative construction methods and apply them in practice.

Your attributes and skills:

  • You have fluent English and German skills as well as strong communication abilities, enabling you to succeed in an international environment.
  • You take ownership of projects and are known for effective leadership.
  • You demonstrate entrepreneurial and strategic thinking and combine a results-oriented mindset with strong customer focus.
  • We win together: You ensure high quality standards and compliance while maintaining cost accuracy and security through structured, methodical approaches.
  • We step boldly: You face challenges head-on, question the status quo, and explore innovative solutions.
  • You bring excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills in interactions with authorities, partners and subcontractors.
