Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.

Even more flexibility? Mobile working from abroad is possible for up to 30 days a year under certain conditions and in selected countries.


Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You drive the software architecture with a focus on a scalable, highly available, and high-performance edge-to-cloud architecture.
  • You develop robust edge computing platforms that process medical data and workloads close to the point of origin while seamlessly integrating with backend and cloud services.
  • You define and implement architectural guidelines and software components for distributed edge environments, such as edge gateways and on-premises nodes.
  • You design solutions for data processing, latency optimization, offline capabilities, store-and-forward mechanisms, and data synchronization at the edge.
  • You ensure security, resilience, operability, and quality across the entire edge-to-cloud technology stack.
  • You provide technical leadership to development teams, coach software engineers, and support the implementation of architectural decisions in day-to-day development activities.
  • You collaborate closely with internal and external architects, partner companies, and collaboration partners at both national and international levels.
  • You support product management, feasibility studies, prototypes, and technology roadmaps with a focus on innovative edge technologies.

    Your qualifications and experience:

    • You hold a university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable technical field.
    • You bring extensive experience in software development and software architecture, ideally within the medical technology industry.
    • You have a proven track record of technically coordinating and mentoring development teams.
    • You possess deep expertise in modern software development methodologies, programming languages (particularly C#, C++, and .NET), testing concepts, and development tools.
    • You have extensive experience designing and implementing software architecture, architectural patterns, frameworks, and data models.
    • You bring strong expertise in edge computing and enterprise software technologies, particularly in distributed systems, cloud integration, container orchestration, and networking technologies.
    • You demonstrate strong intercultural competence and experience collaborating with international partners and suppliers and ideally possess knowledge of clinical workflows.


      Your attributes and skills:

      • You have excellent English language skills; German language skills are considered an advantage.
      • You demonstrate strong analytical thinking and make sound, sustainable decisions, even in complex situations.
      • You think strategically, identify emerging technology trends, and translate them into future-proof architectural concepts.
      • You communicate clearly and effectively, adapting your message to different audiences and making complex technical topics understandable for diverse stakeholders.
      • You are passionate about new technologies and inspire those around you to create innovative solutions together.
      • Your profile is complemented by curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a proactive mindset.
