Then come and join our global team as Senior Cross System Architect (f/m/d) to analyze medical systems across different business lines and derive potential for shared, reusable hardware and software components. Based on this, you design modular platforms and create architecture assets that form the foundation for their successful incubation and adoption across the organization.
Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.
Even more flexibility? Mobile working from abroad is possible for up to 30 days a year under certain conditions and in selected countries.
This position is full-time or part-time with a minimum of 33h/week.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- You As a Senior Cross-System Architect, you shape optimized cross-system architectures, concepts, standards, and modular platforms (Baukasten), taking strategic, technical, technical, and business aspects into account while closely collaborating with all relevant stakeholders
- You contribute to defining the Siemens Healthineers Baukasten strategy and embedding it into cross-system architecture development to drive synergies and business value across the entire product portfolio.
- You identify and evaluate Baukasten initiatives, establish the prerequisites for their successful implementation, and provide the required architecture assets (e.g., Guaranteed Qualities, Functional Models, Baukasten Shelf, and Test Strategies)
- You drive changes across horizontal and vertical interfaces and engage colleagues to establish inter- and intra-architectural standards as well as sustainable synergies
- You support Business Area and Business Line architects as well as development teams in defining architecture specifications, system models, risk analyses, safety and test concepts, as well as user stories and epics
- You work as part of a team of system and software architects and actively build networks internally and externally to continuously integrate relevant technologies, methods, and trends into your architecture work

Your qualifications and experience:
- You hold a degree in engineering, natural sciences, or computer science, combined with solid professional experience in systems engineering, system architecture, or a comparable field. You have a proven ability to design and structure complex systems
- A PhD in a relevant field, combined with several years of professional experience, is considered a strong plus
- You bring experience with architecture methods and tools, or the ability to quickly get up to speed with approaches such as MBSE, SysML, UML, product line engineering, and modular platform architecture
- You have a strong understanding of the product lifecycle, can identify optimization potential, and translate this into effective solutions
- Additional qualifications in system architecture, as well as familiarity with the Siemens Healthineers product portfolio and its underlying architecture, are a plus
- You have a solid understanding of complex technical systems and their hardware and software components, for example computer systems, communication and sensor technologies, logging and monitoring concepts, embedded software, and cooling systems
Your attributes and skills:
- You are fluent in English and German, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate confidently in professional and technical contexts
- You have a proven track record of working effectively in global, cross-functional, and intercultural R&D environments, demonstrating strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- You are able to analyze and structure complex technical systems across domain boundaries and distill them into key architectural decisions; at the same time, you have a strong sense for business impact and value creation
- You work in a structured and self-driven way, learn quickly, and approach challenges with initiative and a strong team mindset; you are passionate about solving complex technical problems
- You are highly motivated and actively promote a culture of ownership, driving synergies and contributing to value creation at Siemens Healthineers
- You communicate decisions in a clear, fact-based, and audience-appropriate manner to a wide range of stakeholders—from technical experts to senior management—while demonstrating strong negotiation and persuasion skills
