Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.
Even more flexibility? Mobile working from abroad is possible for up to 30 days a year under certain conditions and in selected countries.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- You develop, optimize, and integrate medical image registration algorithms for interventional 2D/3D applications, including multimodal, deformable, and real-time registration techniques, depending on project requirements.
- You design, develop, and implement solutions for medical image processing and analysis, as well as AI-driven methods to advance medical imaging and interventional therapies.
- You ensure the efficient implementation and performance optimization of these algorithms and models on GPU and CPU architecture.
- You proactively contribute to software design and system architecture and help ensure product quality throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- You collaborate closely within an agile, interdisciplinary, and international team with colleagues from Research, Product Management, Innovation, and User Experience.

Your qualifications and experience:
- You hold a master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing. A PhD is considered an advantage.
- You have several years of professional experience in software development, ideally in the fields of medical image processing, image registration, computer graphics, and AI-based image analysis.
- You possess strong expertise in developing software for real-time systems as well as in writing high-quality production code in C++.
- You have experience or knowledge in developing parallel algorithms for GPU architecture.
- Ideally, you have already worked in a regulated healthcare environment or in the field of medical image processing.

- You demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and are highly motivated to continuously expand your expertise in the fields of AI and image processing while staying up to date with current research trends.
- As a team player, you thrive in an agile and international working environment. You are fluent in English and can communicate with your team colleagues in German.
- A structured, methodical, and results-oriented approach to work, along with strong time management skills and a high degree of personal responsibility, comes naturally to you.
- In addition, you possess excellent communication skills and are able to present your ideas and technical results clearly, effectively, and in an understandable manner.
