Then come and join our global team as Head of Global Planning – Specialty Lab Solutions (f/m/d), to be responsible for end-to-end supply chain planning in support of SLS business and commercial objectives. As part of the SLS SCM leadership team, this is a highly visible leadership role that is responsible for leading core planning processes and cross-functional collaboration to ensure effective supply planning/response, inventory optimization, and overall supply chain performance.


Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You will be developing a team of global Supply planners with an E2E process optimization mindset, including adoption of tools to assist in developing segmentation, inventory, production, and safety stock strategies (e.g. Kinaxis, SAP, Planet Together).
  • You will be leading Step 3 of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process and providing support for the adoption and continuous improvement of all IBP steps to deliver optimized customer and business performance.
  • You will be utilizing standard processes (e.g. S&OE, IBP step 3) to ensure robust supply reviews and broad alignment between the SCM and CRM teams.
  • You will be developing and implementing demand and supply planning strategies, standard processes and related procedures that align with the organization's goals and objectives and deliver an efficient and effective customer experience.
  • You will be establishing a data driven approach, framework, and procedures to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and reduce excess inventory and scrap.
  • You will be monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure supply planning effectiveness. Monitor KPIs regularly and ensure tools and processes identify root cause and drive a corrective action and accuracy culture through the IBP process.
  • You will be collaborating with the Demand planning team to create a seamless “handshake” between IBP steps 2 & 3 to manage a dynamic portfolio of new, active, and end-of-life products such as reagents, consumables, instruments, and accessories.
  • You will be establishing a collaboration strategy with Head, SLS External Manufacturing & New Product Introduction to drive predictable and accurate planning, buying, and delivery of externally purchased finished goods.
  • You will be responsible for risk surveillance and managementto identify potential supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions. You will proactively monitor market trends, supplier performance, and external factors that may impact the supply planning process.
  • You will be owning and developing production and supplier capacity models and key levers to optimize manufacturing and suppliers for optimized total cost of supply, considering make-to-stock and make-to-order approaches.
  • You will be developing strategic plans to guide portfolio reliability and ensure continued service improvement for long term performance.
  • You will be leveraging experience in cross-site development to lead and develop teams in multiple countries with different cultures, languages, and manufacturing environments.
  • You will be providing proactive stakeholder communication (e.g. business and commercial leaders) when a supply disruption is expected or has occurred.
  • You will be partnering with business and commercial leadership to translate strategic and annual objectives into actionable supply plans, including service level and inventory targets by product and region.
  • You will be collaborating with stakeholders in SCM, Logistics, Finance, CRM, and IT to ensure aligned goals, clear communication pathways, and strong accountabilities.
  • You will be identifying and driving executing on supply chain network analysis initiatives and improvement projects.
  •  You will continuously improving daily, weekly, and monthly planning standard work, ensuring robust controls, analytics, and decision support.
  • You will be developing and refining an education platform to deliver best practice training in global supply chain planning.

Your qualifications and experience:

  • You have a university degree in supply chain management, operations management, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • You have many years of experience in supply planning, demand forecasting, financial controlling, or related supply chain roles, with demonstrated leadership experience
  • You have extensive experience in capacity modeling, inventory optimization, risk identification and mitigation, and portfolio planning across new, active, and end of life products.
  • You have deep knowledge of supply and demand planning principles, processes, best practices, and industry trends including data analysis, predictive analytics, data insights and exposure to AI/ML.
  • You have proven experience in high portfolio complexity manufacturing environments (e.g. diagnostics, pharmaceuticals).
  • You already had exposure to FDA regulated and GMP/QMS governed environments. 
  • You have hands on experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Hoshin Kanri, Value Stream Mapping, structured problem solving, and visual management.

  • You have fluent English language skills (verbal & written)
  • You have a proven track record of leading transformational initiatives with strong strategic thinking, critical analysis, and willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • You have a high level of executive presence with strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to influence at all levels in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Strong project management and facilitation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • You have demonstrated success in building and developing global, cross-cultural teams.
  • You have strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills across complex global organizations.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 20%.
