This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career, with the opportunity to lead radiation protection activities across site design, licensing, shielding, regulatory compliance, and project delivery for new and existing radiopharmaceutical facilities.
Location: Italy (Venafro), Spain (Barcelona), or Erlangen (Germany).
Your role:
- Be part of a cross-department collaboration from site design to start up leading the development of relevant radiation safety and EHS processes and procedures
- Generation, submission, and managing of radioactive materials licensing documentation and required regulatory correspondence
- Shielding design for new facilities, new applications, and new cyclotron installation
- Shielding verification confirmatory surveys
- Onsite support to ensure proper implementation of radiation protection and EHS programs necessary for successful site operation
- Review and submittal of required decommissioning documentation
- Onsite support to ensure successful decommissioning activities as the licensee stakeholder
- Project management to ensure necessary deadlines are maintained
- Site support as necessary for regulatory inspections to ensure regulatory approvals
Your expertise:
- Solid familiarity with radioactive materials and EHS regulatory frameworks, ideally in regulated industrial or pharmaceutical environments
- Proven experience working in radiochemical or radiopharmaceutical operations, or in applied radiation protection involving unsealed radioactive materials
- Strong understanding of GMP‑regulated environments and regulatory expectations
- Demonstrated project management experience, with the ability to manage timelines, priorities, and cross‑functional deliverables
- Degree or certification in Medical Physics, Radiological Health, Radiation Protection, Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a related scientific field
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly translate technical and regulatory concepts to diverse stakeholders
- A collaborative and proactive mindset, able to work effectively in cross‑functional and remote team environments while maintaining personal accountability
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools
Role requirements:
- Flexibility to travel up to 30% annually across Europe, the UK, and India
- Comfortable operating in a hybrid work environment
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a strong asset
- Willingness to reside in Germany, France, Spain, or Italy, or to relocate if needed
