Your role:
AI Use Case Identification & Scoping: Collaborate closely with international Export Control & Customs (ECC) colleagues to identify optimization opportunities through AI and machine learning (e.g., risk detection, classification, compliance automation). Translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and measurable success metrics.
Hands-on Development & Implementation: Use tools such as Python, SQL, and low-code platforms to independently develop prototypes, automation workflows, data pipelines and answer ad-hoc requests. Validate ideas quickly and deliver practical solutions to real-world compliance and trade-related challenges.
Data Ingestion & Integration: Design and implement data ingestion processes by connecting and integrating multiple data sources. Ensure reliable data pipelines and efficient data flow for analytics and AI use cases.
Advanced Analytics & Intelligent Reporting: Go beyond traditional reporting by building advanced analytics solutions and intelligent dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Qlik Sense). Leverage statistical methods and generative AI to uncover insights from trade, customs, and compliance data, enabling data-driven decision-making.
AI Lifecycle Participation & Ownership: Contribute to and drive the full lifecycle of AI solutions—from ideation and feasibility assessment to self-development, deployment, monitoring, iteration, and scaling. Maintain a strong focus on business impact, usability, and real-world application.
Stakeholder Management & Communication: Act as a key interface between ECC colleagues, IT, and data teams. Clearly communicate the value, limitations, and trade-offs of AI-driven solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and adoption.
Your expertise:
Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field
Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or in a similar analytical/technical role with strong knowledge of Export Control, Customs, or Trade Compliance processes and regulations
Solid programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL) for data analysis, automation, and prototyping as well as experience with machine learning and AI methods (e.g. NLP, generative AI), hands-on experience with data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik Sense),
Experience working with SAP data, ideally in SD (Sales & Distribution) and/or MM (Materials Management) modules, experience with Snowflake as a central data platform is a strong plus
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business problems into data-driven solutions and excellent communication skills and confidence working in international, cross-functional environments
High level of curiosity, self-motivation, and ability to independently explore and develop new ideas - fluent in English; German is a plus
Basic wage component (gross) and other rewards: starting from 3.600 EUR brutto /month + VAR*
