Business Services Apprentice – Point of Care
Start your career with us as a Business Services Apprentice, completing a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship while gaining hands-on experience across our Sudbury site.
At Siemens Healthineers Diagnostics in Sudbury, Suffolk, we are a global leading manufacturer in the assembly of specialist instrumentation for laboratories and hospitals across the world for Urinalysis, Diabetes, and Blood Gas analytics, and are the only facility in the network to make and ship these products globally.
This is a learning-focused role, where you’ll complete rotations across our HR, Finance and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams. You’ll build a broad understanding of how a business operates while developing practical skills in communication, organisation and working with different teams.
What you’ll gain from the apprenticeship
From day one, you’ll be building real-world experience while working towards your qualification. You’ll benefit from:
- Rotations across HR, Finance and EHS departments, giving you a broad understanding of how a business operates
- Hands-on experience supporting real business activities and projects
- Development of key skills such as communication, organisation and working with data
- A recognised Level 3 Business Administrator qualification
- Experience working with a wide range of teams and stakeholders across the site
What you’ll be doing
This is a learning role, so you’ll spend your time:
- Supporting day-to-day tasks across HR, Finance and EHS, learning how each team contributes to the business
- Helping to keep information up to date, including records, systems and reports
- Assisting with organising meetings, training sessions and team activities
- Working with colleagues across the site and building confidence communicating with different teams
- Getting involved in improvement activities, helping teams look at how things can be done more effectively
- Learning how we manage important areas such as health & safety, compliance and internal processes
- Building your skills in using digital tools, systems and Microsoft Office
Over time, you’ll gain confidence taking ownership of tasks and contributing more independently to team activities.
What we’re looking for
You don’t need previous experience — we’re looking for someone who is keen to learn and build their skills.
You might be:
- Organised and able to manage your time across different tasks
- Comfortable communicating with others and working as part of a team
- Curious and interested in learning about different areas of a business
- Someone who takes pride in getting things right and paying attention to detail
- Some experience using basic IT tools (or willing to learn)
- Positive and proactive, with a can-do attitude
An interest in areas like HR, finance or health & safety would be helpful, but isn’t essential.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and will happily discuss any adjustments to support you through the recruitment process.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you’ll need to:
- Not hold an existing qualification in Business Administration (or a closely related subject) at the same or higher level already,
- You must also have eligibility to work in the UK for the duration of the Apprenticeship and meet the Department for Education and Skills funding rules, including residency criteria.

Early Careers recruitment process:
- During our Selection and Assessment process for Early Careers, we like to give our candidates the best chance to showcase their potential by using a variety of assessment types.
- To support the shortlisting process for our Early Careers roles, and to enable candidates to showcase their potential beyond what is on their CV, we will often make use of online assessments or/and on-demand video assessments.
- Further assessment will take the form of an interview or assessment centre. Assessment centres typically include some combination of activities such as group problem-solving tasks, individual interviews, presentations and in-tray exercises. Interviews are typically competency based.
- In most cases we try to hold these final stage interviews or assessments in person where possible, to enable candidates to meet our team and get to understand a little bit more about what we do and what it might be like to work for us.

Siemens Healthineers' recruitment is internally managed, with external support permitted only when a qualified supplier has established a formal contract with us. Unsolicited candidate submissions and referrals, absent a current supplier contract, do not establish consent and are ineligible for fees.
