We’re looking for a Data Governance Specialist to join our Center of Competence in Business Data Analytics (BDA).

The role will focus on establishing and operationalizing data governance, data quality, metadata management, and stewardship frameworks for healthcare analytics use cases.

The ideal candidate is a hands on governance practitioner who can work closely with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure data is trusted, compliant, discoverable, and AI ready, while translating governance concepts into practical implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Define and implement data governance frameworks covering data quality, metadata, lineage, ownership, and access management.
  • Establish data ownership and data stewardship models across BDA data products.
  • Drive adoption of a centralized data catalog and ensure accurate metadata and documentation for data products.
  • Define, monitor, and improve data quality KPIs (accuracy, completeness, consistency, freshness).
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Architects to embed governance and quality checks into data pipelines.
  • Support access governance and data security policies, including fine grained access controls where required.
  • Work with cross functional stakeholders (D&A, DX, CS, CT teams) to collect governance requirements and resolve data usage issues.
  • Enable change management by coaching data owners and consumers on governance processes and best practices.
Qualification
Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data management, or a related technical/scientific field.

Experience
  • 15–20 years of experience in data governance, data management, data architecture, or analytics platforms.
  • Experience working with global multi site teams in an agile environment is preferred.

Knowledge and Capabilities
  • Strong experience in data governance, data quality management, metadata management, and data stewardship.
  • Hands on experience with data catalog tools (e.g., Informatica, Unity Catalog, or similar).
  • Understanding of data lifecycle management, data lineage, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work closely with data engineering platforms (Databricks / cloud data platforms preferred).
  • Experience defining SLIs / SLOs / KPIs for governed data products.
  • Exposure to regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., EU Data Act, enterprise data governance standards) is a plus.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a pragmatic, solution oriented mindset.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to think analytically, solve problems, and drive governance adoption.
