Then come and join our global team as Head of Development Center (DC) (f/m/d) to lead our DC in Slovakia.

The Head of DC Slovakia oversees a dedicated regional business function, carefully balancing both strategic direction and day-to-day operational needs. This role is responsible for establishing strategies, policies, and guidelines that are specific to the function or business, which apply globally or regionally within the assigned area.
In addition, the Head of DC Slovakia ensures the success of cross-functional teams, with an emphasis on agile software development groups within the Development Center. The position is accountable for assembling teams with the right expertise and mindset to develop top-tier medical products and solutions, delivering maximum business value to Siemens Healthineers.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

Technology Leadership & Innovation
  • You drive and execute research and (pre-)development activities to maintain technology leadership and competitiveness.
  • You develop and implement technology strategies for new devices, solutions, and service applications based on market demands, customer needs, and technological advancements together with our internal partners.
  • You monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to drive strategic advantage.

Strategic & Tactical Planning

  • You co-lead the creation of the Development Center strategy and ensure its execution throughout DC Slovakia.
  • You build a strong brand for DC Slovakia and, in line with the SHS BA/BL strategies, support its growth with clear measures of success.
  • You define and execute sub-strategies, policies, and guidelines for your assigned unit.
  •  You plan and allocate budgets, resources, and programs in alignment with higher-level strategic goals.
  • You lead strategically relevant projects, including selecting and implementing new technologies and platforms.

Leadership & People Development

  • You lead a team of sub-heads and senior experts in line with the Siemens Healthineers Leadership Model (GRIP), fostering innovation, growth, ownership, and collaboration.
  • You mentor and develop the leadership team, supporting their professional performance and career progression.
  • You ensure the Development Center is staffed with high-performing teams equipped with the right skills and mindset.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • You build and maintain strong relationships with our internal business partners to understand and fulfill their needs.
  • You represent the Development Center in global and regional forums, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.

Organizational Excellence

  • You address challenges and make informed decisions to resolve issues effectively. You promote employee engagement by driving initiatives that improve the organizational culture and work environment.
  • You ensure compliance with global medical device regulations, standards, and quality systems.

Ecosystem & Collaborations

You establish and manage partnerships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry leaders.

Your qualifications and experience:

  • You hold an advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Medical Devices, or Software Engineering, Informatics or a closely related discipline.
  • You bring at least 12 years of progressive leadership experience in R&D, preferably with a focus on software and systems in the medical device or healthcare sector.
  • You have demonstrated success in driving high-impact technology initiatives and building strong partnerships within the innovation ecosystem.
  • You possess a proven history of leading product innovation, overseeing development cycles, and achieving successful regulatory approvals.
  • You have expert understanding of international medical device regulations, clinical trial processes, and product development pathways.
  • You demonstrate outstanding leadership, communication, and project management capabilities.
  • You have experience in building, motivating, and guiding high-performing technical teams.
  • You maintain a strong customer orientation with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Basic wage component (gross) and other rewards: starting from 8000 EUR brutto /month + VAR*

*We are required by law to disclose basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised positions. We carefully consider your professional qualifications and experience in our compensation package and/or when offering you other positions.
