Position Purpose

The Marketing Manager – Lab Solutions (Diagnostics) is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives that drive demand, market growth, profitability, and competitive positioning for the Diagnostics portfolio. The role leads product marketing, portfolio strategy, pricing, market analytics, and commercial execution while partnering closely with Sales, Applications, Service, and Global Headquarters teams.

The incumbent will play a critical leadership role in shaping business strategy, expanding market share, driving customer engagement, and ensuring successful commercialization of laboratory diagnostics solutions across assigned markets.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Marketing & Business Planning

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for the Diagnostics product portfolio to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.
  • Formulate medium and long-term business plans aligned with organizational goals and market dynamics.
  • Develop annual marketing plans, growth initiatives, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Identify emerging market trends, customer needs, competitive threats, and growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to align local marketing strategies with global business priorities.

Product & Portfolio Management

  • Own the Diagnostics portfolio roadmap and lifecycle management.
  • Define product positioning, value propositions, messaging, and differentiation strategies.
  • Lead product launches, commercialization initiatives, and portfolio expansion programs.
  • Develop portfolio strategies for existing and emerging diagnostic technologies.
  • Partner with Global Product Management teams to influence future portfolio development based on market feedback and customer needs.

Market Intelligence & Analytics

  • Monitor market share, competitive intelligence, customer trends, and industry developments.
  • Conduct market assessments and business analysis to identify growth opportunities.
  • Generate actionable insights and recommendations for leadership and global teams.
  • Manage market data reporting for business reviews, strategic planning, and Market Trend Analysis (MTA) processes.
  • Track portfolio performance and implement corrective actions where required.

Pricing & Commercial Excellence

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that optimize profitability and market competitiveness.
  • Drive pricing governance and ensure alignment with commercial objectives.
  • Support sales teams with value-based selling tools, product positioning, and competitive strategies.
  • Monitor pricing effectiveness and market response.

Marketing Programs & Demand Generation

  • Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns to increase product awareness and demand generation.
  • Lead customer engagement initiatives, scientific marketing activities, workshops, conferences, webinars, and KOL programs.
  • Develop marketing collateral, communication campaigns, and promotional materials.
  • Ensure effective collaboration with Sales and Applications teams for successful campaign execution.

Financial & Budget Management

  • Develop and manage annual marketing budgets.
  • Allocate resources effectively across products and initiatives.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure budget adherence.
  • Evaluate return on investment (ROI) for marketing activities and strategic programs.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), laboratory directors, healthcare providers, distributors, and strategic customers.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within the organization.
  • Engage with luminary customers to identify unmet needs and drive customer-centric solutions.
  • Represent the business at industry forums, conferences, and customer meetings.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Managers and Marketing professionals.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and performance excellence.
  • Drive capability building and succession planning within the team.
  • Encourage cross-functional teamwork across Sales, Applications, Service, Finance, and Global teams.

Reporting & Governance

  • Provide periodic business reviews to local and global leadership teams.
  • Track KPIs related to revenue growth, market share, profitability, product performance, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education

Essential

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Electronics, Medical Laboratory Technology, or related discipline.

Preferred

  • MBA in Marketing / General Management.
  • B.E./B.Tech (Biomedical Engineering/Electronics preferred).
  • MBBS or equivalent healthcare qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in Product Management, Marketing, or Sales within the In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD), Laboratory Diagnostics, Medical Devices, or Healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a large diagnostics portfolio.
  • Experience with P&L responsibility and business management.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization with global stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, diagnostics technologies, and healthcare markets.
