As a POC Informatics Technical Specialist, the successful candidate will be working as part of the UK POC Informatics team covering the full range of POC middleware solutions products, which includes POCcelerator, RAPIDComm and the newest product on the market, Atellica Connect.

Through the product installation and the technical call clarification processes they will aim to complete product installations in a timely and efficient manner, as well as achieve and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction for Siemens products through addressing customer support requirements, thereby ensuring continued profitable growth of the Healthineers business.

This role requires the successful candidate to demonstrate knowledge of IT networks and infrastructure, the ability to install complex IT solutions based on an implementation project plan and the ability to analyse, remotely troubleshoot, repair, maintain and support clinically the full range of POC Informatics in the UK. Additionally, they must be able to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels and address customer support issues promptly and professionally, promptly attend internal and external project meetings and follow work schedules as set by the POC Informatics manager.

Working Partners/Contacts

In some circumstances pre-planned visits to customer sites may be required to complete POC Informatics installations and the successful candidate is expected to provide these visits as required.
The successful candidate will be required to participate in an Informatics rota, as set by the POC Informatics manager, to provide both planned implementation project work and ongoing customer support services to meet business needs.
This role requires working in close collaboration with other teams within the GB&I POC CS structure, namely the Technical Solutions Centre team and the Customer Technical Specialist team, to complete installations of Siemens POC devices with Informatics, and to provide ongoing Informatics support to customers.

• Provide reports, technical analysis, benchmarking, and product technical information about POC Informatics to all stakeholders within CS as required.
• Work in cooperation with the Customer Technical Specialist and Technical Solutions Centre teams where necessary.
• Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with established processes, local rules and health and safety policy.
• Provide technical coaching/training for engineers or customers as instructed by POC Informatics manager as required.

Experience

• Proven experience installing, using, supporting and troubleshooting the full range of Siemens POC Informatics products.
• IT skills, including an understanding & remote support troubleshooting, lab base network solutions and Networking infrastructure as well as current IT technologies.
• An understanding of clinical modality applications and lab-based workflow.
• Demonstrable experience of technical problem resolution.
• A working knowledge of fault analysis and resolution.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with staff and customers at all levels.
• Demonstratable technical report writing skills.

Capabilities

• Strong communication skills written and verbal in English.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Ability to develop positive customer relationships.
• Ability to analyse, plan, report and take action on technical issues.
• Ability to both cooperatively create and follow implementation plans and processes.
• Ability to work within a rota as set by the POC Informatics manager.

Additional Information

Candidates will be home based and must be self-motivated. They will need to work effectively at part of a team to both provide implementation services as well as supporting customers alongside colleagues within other teams. The successful candidate should be flexible about working hours, and so should be open to the possibility of some out of hours work to support customer go-live activities. From time to time the nature of healthcare business dictates that the candidate may be required to work outside normal hours or weekend days, to support customer needs particularly during implementations.
