Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end planning and execution of global, cross-functional programs for the Ultrasound Segment, with a primary focus on patch and sustaining releases across the Ultrasound portfolio. This role leads multidisciplinary teams to deliver release scope on time, on cost, and on quality, while ensuring strong governance, proactive risk management, and stakeholder alignment across R&D, Quality & Regulatory and Service Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional, global project core teams supporting Ultrasound sustaining/patch releases, spanning Engineering (HW/SW), Product Management, Clinical, Systems, Quality & Regulatory and Service Operations as applicable.
  • Own integrated release plans, schedules, milestones, and dependencies; drive delivery discipline and compliance to committed timelines and deliverables.
  • Drive scope intake and prioritization for patch/sustaining releases (defects, cybersecurity updates, reliability improvements, minor enhancements); ensure clear entry/exit criteria and change control.
  • Define and maintain release scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria with key stakeholders; manage change control and configuration management for product, software, documentation, and process changes impacting the release.
  • Coordinate release readiness across functions, including verification/validation, cybersecurity and safety assessments (as applicable), documentation completion, and quality/regulatory deliverables; drive closure of release blockers.
  • Establish release governance: facilitate periodic status reporting, defect/issue triage forums, formal release reviews, and management/stakeholder readouts; ensure clear decision-making, escalation paths, and documentation.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and interdependencies impacting schedule, cost, quality, or performance, drive mitigation and corrective actions.
  • Plan and manage budgets, resources, and capacity; support prioritization across multiple initiatives and ensure effective allocation and utilization.
  • Enable effective communication and collaboration across functions and geographies; facilitate conflict resolution and alignment among diverse stakeholders.
  • Support post-release monitoring and stabilization (e.g., field feedback, defects, service escalations); drive lessons learned into the next release.
  • Promote process excellence by applying and improving project management methodologies, standards, and best practices; capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable quality systems, regulatory requirements, and organizational process frameworks in partnership with Global Quality Management and other support functions.
  • Coach and motivate project teams to create a high-performance environment; build mutual trust, accountability, and a "win-win" culture to achieve results.
  • Support modern ways of working (e.g., Agile/Scrum at scale, hybrid Agile/Waterfall models) and contribute to productivity improvements through tooling, automation, and (where applicable) AI-enabled approaches.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (BE/B.Tech) or a related field; Master’s degree desirable.
  • Typically, 10–12+ years of experience in a global environment with demonstrated ownership of complex, cross-functional projects/programs.
  • Strong knowledge of project/program management practices, including planning, estimation, governance, and reporting; hands-on experience with common PM tools.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate clearly with senior leadership and cross-functional teams (written, verbal, and presentation).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, drive decisions, and resolve conflicts in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, accountable, and delivery-oriented mindset.

Preferred / Desirable

  • Experience in software development organizations and/or leading delivery across multiple Scrum teams; familiarity with hybrid Agile/Waterfall delivery models.
  • Experience with sustaining engineering and software release management (patches/hotfixes), including defect triage, dependency management, and coordination across multiple development sites.
  • Exposure to regulated medical device development and quality management systems/standards (as applicable), including experience preparing release evidence for audits and internal/external quality reviews.
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers/subcontractors and distributed, multicultural teams.
  • Strong technical orientation to work effectively with engineering teams on Ultrasound systems (software and hardware) and to manage multidisciplinary stakeholder expectations across sustaining and patch delivery.

Opportunities

  • Opportunity to collaborate with Ultrasound business and technology leaders across Siemens Healthineers globally.
  • Drive releases that improve reliability, cybersecurity posture, and customer experience for the Ultrasound installed base, with tangible impact on field performance and service outcomes.
