Master Thesis - Far Field Optimized MRI Body Coil Design

Then come and join our global team to write your Master’s Thesis on the topic of Far Field Optimized MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Body Coil Design.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- You will assist with the modification and enhancement of a design for a ‘birdcage’ MRI body coil
- You will explore new optimization approaches for the design of RF antennas, as well as 3D simulations of electromagnetic fields using CST Studio Suite
- You evaluate transmission efficiency and far-field characteristics
- As part of your work, you will draft, construct and experimentally evaluate a coil prototype

Your qualifications and experience:
- You are studying in your Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Medical Engineering or in a similar technical/engineering field
- You have knowledge in Dassault Microwave Studio or similar
- You have very good knowledge of RF technology and electromagnetic fields
- You have experience with numerical simulation methods for electromagnetic design (e.g. FEM/EM simulation) as well as experience with electromagnetic simulation tools (preferably CST)
- You have a strong interest in MRI technology and medical imaging systems
Your attributes and skills:
- You have a very good command of written and spoken English, German is a plus
- You are known for your structured and independent approach to work
- You possess analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
- You have a practical approach to experimental work and prototype development, as well as the ability to link simulation results with practical implementation aspects
- You like it to work in a team, you are able to work effectively in a research and development environment
