Join our team now at Siemens Healthineers as a Temporary Buyer for 12 months.  The role is based at our manufacturing site in Swords, Co Dublin, Ireland.

You will work as part of the site Procurement team, working with various functions such as Engineering, Quality and Logistics, to advance the purchasing programs with an international supply base.  Supporting the achievement of business requirements in terms of operational excellence, productivity and supply chain deliverables.   Siemens are looking for someone who can actively contribute to the management and development of the sites operational supply chain in a progressive manner.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for materials to support production and service in line with customer orders/requirements.
  • Continually work with the supply base to assess risk and ensure supply continuity of supply across a broad range of Suppliers/materials.
  • Capable of resolving supply disruption and surges in demand that is cost effective for the business.
  • Maximise the use of ‘Lean supply’ methods to meet delivery and inventory objectives.
  • Manage Supplier performance in areas of on-time delivery, cost, quality, and service to achieve agreed targets with suppliers.
  • Lead all significant issue resolution programs with suppliers in conjunction with cross functional teams, (Engineering, Quality)

Your qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline (QQI level 8).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience within Procurement, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • You are a team player, capable of building strong and influential relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • You participate and show up to cross function production meetings
  • You have good working knowledge of procurement methods, tools, processes and reports.
  • You are a problem solver with a continuous and curious improvement mindset.
  • You are self-directing, goal orientated and able to prioritize your workload.
