The Operations Engineer will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing hardware, IT infrastructure, virtualization environments, and cloud-based systems. The role requires hands-on experience in troubleshooting, performance monitoring, system operations, and application migration to cloud environments such as AWS/Azure. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, reliability, and security of IT systems while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a hybrid position with possible locations in Bratislava, Žilina or Košice.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain cloud-native infrastructure across AWS/Azure, ensuring high availability, resilience, and scalability.
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux/Windows systems and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Docker).
- Design, implement, and optimize monitoring solutions (e.g., New Relic) to ensure application reliability and performance.
- Execute cloud operations including deployments, scaling, capacity management, and infrastructure automation (e.g., scripting, AWS Lambda).
- Implement and enforce security controls, patching strategies, backup/restore procedures, and compliance requirements in regulated environments.
- Support DevOps workflows, including CI/CD pipelines, release management, and production deployments.
- Analyze system and application metrics to proactively identify issues and drive performance optimization.
- Collaborate with development and cross-functional teams to define infrastructure requirements, improve system architecture, and ensure smooth service operations.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Strong understanding of AWS/Azure cloud concepts, including Storage, Networking, Load Balancing, VM / EC2 Instances, Security best practices, Lambda, AKS
- Experience with Windows and Linux OS troubleshooting.
- Basic scripting skills (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python) and exposure to AWS Lambda.
- Experience with systems and IT operations in a high-security environment.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ITIL processes.

Educational Qualification
- BE/BTech in Computer Science or equivalent field.
In line with applicable pay transparency requirements, the minimum gross monthly base salary for this position is 3100€.
In addition, this role includes a variable compensation component, depending on individual and/or company performance.
The final offer will be determined based on qualifications, skills, and experience and may exceed the stated minimum.
