Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Oxford, UK

About us

At Siemens Healthineers, we pioneer breakthroughs in healthcare for everyone. Everywhere. Sustainably. Our work helps clinicians make confident decisions and supports patients across the world by ensuring critical medical technology is available, reliable, and performing at its best. At our Oxford manufacturing site, the maintenance function plays a vital role in keeping complex, highly automated production equipment running safely and efficiently—every day.

About the role

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll lead the day‑to‑day operations of our maintenance function at our Eynsham facility, ensuring high equipment availability and smooth production continuity. Working permanent days, you’ll oversee a multi‑shift maintenance team, acting as the link between engineering, production, and leadership. This is an established, hands‑on leadership role where your technical knowledge and people skills combine to create a safe, reliable, and high‑performing environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading and supporting a team of maintenance engineers across rotating weekday and weekend shifts
  • Coordinating fast and effective breakdown response to minimise downtime and protect production output
  • Overseeing planned, preventive, predictive, and statutory maintenance activities
  • Prioritising work on the shop floor, balancing scheduled maintenance with operational risk and uptime
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and cost performance
  • Acting as the interface between maintenance, production teams, and management
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards at all times
  • Analysing recurring issues using data and root‑cause methods, and implementing lasting solutions
  • Supporting optimisation projects and working with suppliers and contractors where required
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, reporting, and performance visibility

What skills and experience you’ll bring

  • A strong background in industrial maintenance, ideally within a highly automated manufacturing environment
  • Solid technical expertise in mechanical and/or electrical systems, with exposure to automation, PLCs, robotics, or SCADA
  • Proven people leadership experience, including managing and motivating teams across multiple shifts
  • Confidence making sound decisions under pressure and prioritising work based on operational risk
  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with experience in root cause analysis and performance optimisation
  • Strong communication skills, able to engage effectively with engineers, production teams, and leaders
  • Relevant technical qualifications or apprenticeship, with safety certification such as IOSH or NEBOSH highly valued

What’s on offer

  • Competitive base salary
  • 26 days annual leave with the option to buy up to 10 days and sell up to 5
  • Up to 10% matched pension contributions
  • BUPA Private Medical Insurance
  • Bonus & Share Save Scheme
  • Free to use on‑site gym
  • 2 paid volunteering days each year
