At Siemens Healthineers Magnet Technology  in Oxfordshire, we are a world leader in the design and manufacture of superconducting MRI magnets for medical applications. We take enormous pride in developing truly innovative technology and continue to push boundaries to help make MRI systems more accessible worldwide.

The opportunity

Apply now for our exciting new opportunity for a Marketing, Communications and Business Excellence Intern to join our team at Magnet Technology.

This 12‑month internship offers hands‑on experience across a broad range of activities, supporting how we communicate, operate, and continuously improve as a business. As a brand‑new role, you’ll experience real variety, gain exposure to different teams, and contribute to meaningful projects that support both our people and our operations.

You will initially be based mainly at our Eynsham site in 2026, with the opportunity to spend time at our brand‑new Bicester facility as it comes online in 2027. This will give you unique insight into how a large‑scale manufacturing business manages the transition of operations while maintaining day‑to‑day delivery, including the role that effective internal and external communications and engagement play during periods of change.

Alongside your day‑to‑day role, you will take part in our 12‑month Intern Development Programme, designed to build key skills such as communication, teamwork, and commercial awareness.

Your role

As a Marketing, Communications and Business Excellence Intern, you will support a variety of initiatives across the business. Typical activities may include:

  • Supporting internal communications, helping to share updates, initiatives, and key messages clearly and effectively.
  • Assisting with visit management, including preparation, coordination, and materials for internal and external visitors.
  • Helping to document, review, and improve existing processes, supporting our focus on continuous improvement and business excellence.
  • Contributing to branding and engagement activities, helping ensure consistent and professional representation of Magnet Technology.
  • Supporting cross‑functional projects across operations, engineering, quality, and business support teams.
  • Assisting with activities linked to our future facility transition, helping support readiness and communication during change.

This role is well suited to someone who enjoys variety, collaboration, and learning how a complex organisation operates.

About you

We’re looking for an undergraduate student currently studying towards (or recently completing) a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Management, Operations, or a related subject, and seeking a 12‑month industrial placement or sandwich year as part of your degree.

You should have:

  • An enquiring, proactive, and outgoing approach, with a willingness to get involved and ask questions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with a range of teams.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • An interest in how businesses communicate, operate, and continuously improve.
  • A flexible mindset, comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment where no two days are the same.

No prior industry experience is required — we’ll support you as you learn.

You must also have eligibility to work in the UK for the duration of the internship (Summer 2026 – Summer 2027).

Early Careers recruitment process

  • During our Selection and Assessment process for Early Careers, we like to give our candidates the best chance to showcase their potential by using a variety of assessment types.
  • To support the shortlisting process for our Early Careers roles, and to enable candidates to showcase their potential beyond what is on their CV, we will often make use of online assessments or/and on-demand video assessments.
  • Further assessment will take the form of an interview or assessment centre. Assessment centres typically include some combination of activities such as group problem-solving tasks, individual interviews, presentations and in-tray exercises. Interviews are typically competency based.
  • In most cases we try to hold these final stage interviews or assessments in person where possible, to enable candidates to meet our team and get to understand a little bit more about what we do and what it might be like to work for us.
