Position Overview

The Automation/Informatics Workflow Specialist will drive laboratory automation and informatics growth through expert consultation with clinical laboratories. They will use their expertise in laboratory workflow, informatics solutions, automation design and product capabilities to work with the sales team to provide the most suitable solution to address their needs.  They will consult with new accounts to analyze their operational workflow and LIS data to design lab automation solutions and simulate future workflow outcomes. They will present the value of our solution to prospects, leading to sales growth. This position will report to the Head of Lab Solutions, Thailand and will work closely with the direct sales team and our business partners to identify automation sales opportunities, participate in the sales process, develop the solution, present the value and, working closely with project managers, implement the solution proposed to the customer. This position will be accountable for the automation sales funnel, achieving target win rates and the retention of automation accounts.

Areas of Responsibility and Tasks

Pre-Sales

Driving the development of new automation business in Thailand through maintaining and developing the sales funnel and working closely with partners to ensure capture of automation opportunity pre-sales information. (full responsibility)

Lead automation and IT product presentations, discussions, information transfer to partners and other related consultations with prospective customers (full responsibility)

Conduct and lead workflow analysis and provide recommendations for potential and existing customers on the best automation configuration for laboratory (from pre-analytical: blood collection and sample delivery, to post-analytical) based on evidence and data and communicate the benefit, workflow improvements, and value monetization of the suggested proposal to help close deals. Development of Lean Concepts and presentations concerning Lab-Organization and Process. (full responsibility)

Design automation solutions that meet user and SHS requirements (workflow, structural, engineering, safety) using CAD software. (full responsibility)

Develop Laboratory Informatics solutions, including Auto-verification, automation workflow, and system integration, to maximize utilization of the Siemens Healthineers IT portfolio (shared responsibility)

Presentation and demonstration of automation and informatics solutions to customers within their working environment, at user group meetings, internal meetings and external conferences, showcasing the value of our solutions to customers. (shared responsibility)

Achieving target win rates for automation accounts. (shared responsibility)

Implementation

Coordinates all automation project, including advising on ordering of correct components, working with Thailand DX CS Manager for assigning project leader, engaging second level support, and ensuring smooth implementation of automation solution (shared responsibility)

Demonstrate Lean Sigma Healthcare leadership and Transformation Management by coaching customers on LEAN culture and ability to manage change. (full responsibility)

Post sales

Lead account retention efforts for all automation accounts, achieving target customer retention rates. (shared responsibility)

Conduct Health checks for existing Automation accounts, as needed for customer retention purpose. (full responsibility)

Suggest workflow optimization (from blood collection through to post-analysis) based on health check report and observations, work with local/regional CS team for the implementation and present to customers on improvements made since implementation of automation and informatics solution. (shared responsibility)

General

Participate in various Integrated Product Teams and Working Groups.

May be required to support other ASEAN country teams, in person or via remote.

Required Competencies

Technologies – MS Office (proficient in the use of PowerPoint and Excel), HCS related tools, Drawing tools (AutoCAD), general IT proficiency [advanced]

Professional knowledge – Diagnostic Laboratory Workflow, Lean, Six Sigma, Laboratory Automation, Laboratory Informatics, Competitive landscape [basic - advanced]

Methodologies – Presentation skill, conducting workshop, project management [intermediate - advanced]

Essential Criteria

Academic qualification in Medical Laboratory Technology / Biomedical Science / Biochemistry / Biotechnology or equivalent

At least 3 years work experience in the clinical laboratory

Previous experience in engineering or applications support, especially in automation and IT, or sales, product management

Strong communication skills (Thai, English fluency)

Flexible approach to working hours and travel

·       Experience with AutoCAD preferred
