We're looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join Siemens Healthineers Australia & New Zealand on a 14–18 month fixed-term contract. Based in Melbourne and reporting to the Head of Legal, Australia & New Zealand, you'll be part of our global Legal team, partnering with stakeholders across the business to provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice and support strategic projects while helping manage legal and regulatory risk.
About the role:
Provide commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of matters, including commercial contracts, data privacy, competition and consumer law, employment, intellectual property, cybersecurity, therapeutic goods regulation, workplace health and safety, and leasing.
Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements and provide legal support for key business transactions and projects.
Partner with sales teams on tenders, bids, customer negotiations and complex commercial arrangements.
Manage project-specific approvals and contractual risk assessments.
Support procurement, real estate, logistics and other commercial activities.
Advise on compliance, regulatory matters, insurance, bank guarantees, export controls and data privacy.
Manage disputes and claims, including engaging and overseeing external legal counsel.
Develop legal templates, policies and training, and monitor legal developments to support the business.
About you:
A current Australian legal practising certificate and at least 5+ years' post-qualification experience, gained in private practice and/or an in-house environment.
Previously worked within a medtech organisation highly desirable
Strong commercial contracting, drafting and negotiation skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across the business.
Self-motivated and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
High levels of professionalism, integrity and sound judgement.
A genuine interest in healthcare and the life sciences industry.
