Your tasks and responsibilities:

- Within the scope of this thesis, you will contribute to the environmental assessment of chemicals and reagents used in the context of healthcare products:
- The objective is to apply Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies to better understand environmental impacts, identify hot spots, and derive potential improvement measures for more sustainable solutions
- For this thesis your possible tasks will include:
- Literature review on LCA methodologies and existing LCA data for healthcare‑relevant chemicals and reagents
- Definition of goal and scope, considering the specific requirements of the regulated healthcare environment
- Modeling of life cycles (e.g. raw material extraction, production, transportation, use, and end‑of‑life)
- Conducting life cycle assessments (e.g. carbon footprint and further environmental indicators)
- Interpretation of results and identification of environmental hotspots
- Derivation of optimization and reduction potentials for products and processes
- Scientific documentation and presentation of results in the form of a thesis

Your qualifications and experience:
- You are studying (ideally in a master's degree) in chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental sciences, process engineering, or a comparable field of study
- You have a strong interest in sustainability, environmental assessment, and healthcare‑related topics
- Also, you have a solid basic knowledge of chemistry; initial exposure to LCA or environmental analysis is an advantage
Your attributes and skills:
- You have very good written and spoken English skills, German is a plus
- You have an analytical, structured, and independent working style
