Join our team now at Siemens Healthineers as Technical Transfer Laboratory Scientist (Fixed Term contract ending September 2027) and you will support the technical operations within our well-established and modern manufacturing and distribution facility based at Llanberis, Wales. The facility, based in the Eryri National Park, manufactures and distributes reagents used in hospitals worldwide to aid the diagnosis of medical conditions.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Technical Transfer Laboratory Scientist, you will be involved in the commercialisation of new products. Working within Technical Operations, you will perform a wide variety of semi-complex design transfer assignments, encompassing critical raw material and component manufacturing, laboratory testing, data review, and design transfer, in line with project timelines. Additionally you will:

  • Apply biochemistry knowledge and experience to perform purification and conjugation of antibodies, antigens and allergens.
  • Conduct and review analytical testing (e.g. SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting) and functional testing (e.g. immunoassay), request repeat testing where necessary, determine disposition and approve materials in accordance with specifications.
  • Design, direct, organise and implement actions associated with technical activities, including generating reports.
  • Carry out planned work to achieve key milestones, prioritising tasks to maximise efficiency.
  • Ensure that all documentation is completed to the required quality standards and in a timely manner, including performing calculations and checks.
  • Operate, maintain, clean, and calibrate laboratory and manufacturing equipment safely and competently.
  • Comply, at all times, with the relevant Quality and Environmental Standards e.g. BS EN ISO 13485, and ENI46001, US FDA Quality System Regulations (QSR 21 CFR Part 820) and relevant European Directives as documented within our company Quality Management Systems.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Post-graduate or graduate in a science discipline or relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge of immunoassay and data analysis.
  • Experience with data analysis tools/techniques.
  • Experience with general laboratory and biochemical skills / practices.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Great attention to detail, time management skills and teamwork.
