We are now hiring a Head of Business Operations & Business Development for our EMEA Radiopharma business, based in Dunstable, England. This is a high-impact senior leadership role that combines operational oversight with strategic business development. As the global leader in PET radiopharmaceuticals, PETNET operates a network of 59 cyclotron-equipped radiopharmacies and continues to pioneer innovations that expand access to life-saving diagnostics.

About the Role

The Head of Business Operations and Business Development will lead key operational and commercial initiatives across the EMEA region, ensuring streamlined performance, scalable growth, and long-term business sustainability. This individual will play a pivotal role in executing our PET diagnostics strategy, managing operational excellence, and cultivating commercial opportunities in both mature and emerging markets.

Reporting directly to the VP for Business Development, this role will collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Commercial, Finance, Regulatory, Quality, Legal, HR, and Supply Chain teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on leader with deep expertise in the radiopharmaceutical or healthcare diagnostics space and a strong track record of execution in complex, matrixed organizations.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Operational Leadership

  • Lead the operational execution and oversight of Radiopharma portfolio expansion across EMEA.
  • Champion LEAN methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives to drive productivity, reduce cost, and maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Guide operational readiness for infrastructure projects, network expansion, and new product launches.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), business dashboards, and compliance metrics to support sustainable operations.

Business Development & Growth Enablement

  • Shape and execute the EMEA Radiopharma growth strategy by identifying new opportunities in PET diagnostics and theranostics.
  • Evaluate pipeline opportunities, lead negotiations, and secure new commercial contracts with pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, CROs, and biotech firms.
  • Lead partnership development, onboarding, and account management across the region.
  • Monitor evolving market dynamics, regulatory trends, and customer needs to adapt strategy accordingly.
  • Collaborate with R&D and portfolio teams to assess novel isotopes, biomarkers, and manufacturing models aligned with PETNET’s commercial capabilities.

Cross-functional and Executive Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary operational interface between the EMEA Radiopharma business and global leadership functions.
  • Drive large-scale programs such as the Joining Forces initiative, overseeing organizational harmonization and integration planning.
  • Partner with Finance and Country CFOs on budgeting, forecasting, and performance planning.
  • Represent Radiopharma at strategic cross-business meetings, steering committees, and industry forums.
  • Champion cultural integration, talent development, and capability building across the business.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or Pharmacy; MBA preferred.
  • 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in radiopharmaceuticals, diagnostics, or pharmaceutical operations.
  • Proven expertise in business operations, business development, and program execution across regional or global settings.
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory compliance, GMP/GDP practices, and supply chain complexity in life sciences.
  • Strong commercial acumen and contract negotiation experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and executive-level communication skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are an asset.
  • Willingness to travel across EMEA up to 50%.

Key Competencies

  • Visionary leadership with operational rigor and growth mindset.
  • Financial acumen and ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Inspirational team builder and cross-cultural collaborator.
  • Strong strategic planning and change management skills.
  • Customer-centric thinking with commercial insight.
  • Able to navigate ambiguity and drive transformation in dynamic environments.

Why Join Us?

  • Be a part of an industry-leading team working to transform patient care.
  • Lead innovative projects that shape the future of molecular imaging.
  • Collaborate with world-class professionals across a global healthcare network.
  • Grow your career within a purpose-driven, innovation-focused environment.
